HWMBO made a very nice dinner comprising black pudding and tomato sausages form the farmers' market (very good) and a tray bake of Cyprus potatoes, bell peppers and Turkish peppers from the local grocers.

It's late and the bed has not been made...

Overcast with a yellow warning of rain for 8am, so we kept the walk to about 5km. V. humid out.

        Morning denizens

Sunny start out, with just a few wisps and strands of high cloud here and there. The weather app has this marked down as "mostly cloudy" so maybe it knows something I don't. It's 14°C and expected to reach 20°, but also expected to get cloudier with rain arriving tonight and stopping over. The barometers are down a little bit at 998/1006mB

          Morning all

Another cloudy day beckons. Currently 19 degrees with a high of 20 expected. Rain forecast from lunchtime onwards. Barometer down to 1007 mBar.

The chap from Thames Water is due to come back today to remove the water meter and make good the pipework as best he can.

I am currently being very vexed by poor search results when looking for reasons why my front door lock has a feature that means it has to be slammed really hard to close the door. There's a little mini bit that pokes out the top and locks into place. I presume that's to stop people accidentally locking themselves out but the downside is that you have to get some major force/momentum going to shut the door when you do want to close it. I hate slamming doors and I wince every time I have to do it.

Picked up new laundry airers from Argos this morning and one is already being pressed into the service of drying the duvet cover.

A light shower of rain came and went.

I have noticed, of late, a significant uptick in the number of shifty emails that are Screwfix branded. Have they had a hack of their customer list?

I've been getting a lot of them too. No idea if they've been hacked, but they're all along the lines of "You have been selected to win a thing" and I've also been getting ones like that for a number of other brands, such as Curry's and Bosch. So I suspect the spammers are just phishing using brand names that they hope will take enough people in
