Tea: ribs and chips, being the last of the smoky bourbon ribs from Chatsworth. Very nice

Sunny and Simpsonesque out now, and the breeze which was quite strong during the day has simmered down a bit

Today's email shenanigans was to do with the estate agent's draft of the brochure for the sale of our parents' house

My contribution to the editing process was to point out two (identical) misspellings and two (identical) grammatical errors in the first sentence of the textual description. It's what they would have wanted, and expected

Tonight's major motion picture experience was, I think, predicated on the concept of teeth due to anticipation of the annoying requirement to attend an appointment at the dentist tomorrow. So first up was a rewatch of The Meg (2018) which is extremely scientifically implausible but manages to be pretty good in the ripping yarn genre, as long as one is willing to accept that it's not a documentary

And then tonight's premiere: Meg 2: The Trench (2023) which is much worse in terms of demanding suspension of belief in the basic facts of physics for the first hour or so. But once it gets away from the bottom of the ocean and turns into a bunch of over-the-top action set pieces in the vicinity of the atmosphere, it improves a fair bit. Neither of them are going to win any awards for scientific accuracy, but again: not documentaries, and shouldn't be expected to act like they are

      Goodnight all

        ^^^ .

        Morning.

        Saturday apparently.

        Wet.

        Grey.

        Sunless.

        Gloomy.

Cool in here at 19.8 deg, 21 deg in the kitchen, 19 deg in the leanto.

1010.5 mBar, 29.84 in Hg, 757.9373 Torr, 14.656 psi, (down from 1012 last night), 78% RH (GDR hair), 64% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 14th of October 2019 I watched 4 eps of BTVS S1 including the one where Darla gets dusted, followed by "Castles in the Sky" being the story of British radar development, whereas NF was watching the concluding eps of S4 of "Breaking Bad", everyone had tea, and there was discussion of more heavy weaponry, presumably for offing cyclists as seems to be the wont.

Last night's frustration with the ending of Veronica Mars followed by poor results on Freecell led to punching the wall, and this morning the failure of the kettle led to its complete & utter demise in pieces on the floor. After I'd unplugged it & emptied it of course, I wasn't that irritated so that a litre & a half of water would go everywhere..

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the grey gloom.

        Lunch: beans on toast etc.

"Entertainment": The news quiz. Does anyone else remember when this was about the news? And/or funny? Just askin' like. .

Veronica Mars S1 E22 (continued). Yes. They had chopped rather a lot of that out of the recent broadcast on ITV2.

Looked at some old pictures of Neath wondering why my Dad isn't in one of them whereas everyone else in the business was. Also some pictures of teachers at the Grammar Skool back in the day. Tom Pugh looked exactly the same in 1940 as he did in 1972.

Tea: lentil soup (homemade: 20/5/2020). It was edible. Just about.

Entertainment: PM <click>. Sliced Bread on statins <click>.

Dixon of Dock Green S21 E13 "Conspiracy".

The Edgar Wallace Mystery Theatre: S3 E6 "Death Trap (1962)". It had Mick Dundee's mate Wally (John Meillon), Kenneth Cope, and a curiously random sub Carry On appearance from Barbara Windsor in the shower. .

            Morning denizens

Cloudy out, but mild enough at 16°C heading for 19°. Chance of light rain soon though. The barometers are up a touch at 1003/1011mB

              Morning all, local time 0732

Bright but cloudy. Currently 28 degrees ('feels like' 32) with a high of 32 expected. Thunderstorms forecast for this afternoon.

Oistins Fish Friday was a bonkers affair but excellent food. It rained a fair bit.

Today we're heading over the other side of the island to New Castle.

Strictly speaking, I was at the dental hygienist. It's basically paying a fine for admitting Failure to Floss

Sunny and Simpsonesque out now, and it feels a bit warmer than the 19°C alleged by the phone app. Even the watch app says it's 21°

On the way back, I noticed that one of the windows in my old flat is broken!

They've put a board or something on the inside, but it's going to be pricy to fix that. He wouldn't have had this problem if he hadn't put my rent up so much that I bought a flat and moved out on principle

Tea has been brought to me from the Indian restaurant down past the other side of the park. Very nice

Speaking of the park, a big chunk of it has been fenced off ready for a Kasabian gig next weekend
