    Morning.

    Saturday.

    Grey.

    Dry but picking with rain.

    Dreary.

Chilly in here at 12.5 deg, 12 deg in the kitchen, 11 deg in the leanto.

991 mBar, 29.264 in Hg, 743.3 Torr, 14.373 psi, (down from 995 last night), 75% RH (GDR hair), 64% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 5th of September 2019 stuff was sawn up and taken down the dump with associated electronic scrap, while NF had sausage, chips & beans for tea, as is only right & proper, whilst I had lentil <pfffft> soup, though in those far off days it was homemade rather than canned.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the grey gloom. Eventually warmed up enough to remove the scarf.

Lunch: scrambled egg etc. Dunno why a bit of egg exploded in the microwave.

Entertainment: The final ep of this run of The News Quiz.

        Morning denizens

Fairly cloudy out but, as yesterday, in a clumpy way with some blue gaps rather than overcast. Currently 11°C and maybe reaching 12° briefly. The barometers are very much down though, at 984/992mB; a harbinger of the rain that's expected tomorrow morning. Seems fairly breezy too

          Afternoon all

Sunny with occasional fluff. A balmy 14 degrees and that's the high for the day. Rain forecast late this evening/ overnight. Barometer down to 995 mBar.

Dinner last night was a success. HWMBO made: railway goat curry, hot Punjabi prawn curry, courgette fritters in creamy tomato sauce, homemade paneer with mushrooms and peas, okra and aubergine curry, dhal makhani, channa masala, pomegranate yoghurt, cucumber yoghurt, green yoghurt chutney, tamarind chutney, rice, saffron and vanilla poached pears with cardamom baked rice pudding.

Just a simple supper!! Yes there are enough left overs to feed an army. Oh and there were matched cocktails: a tamarind margarita and a rose martini.

Our guests left very well fed.

Breakfast today was lunch, really: a couple of croissants with strawberry jam

And for tea, I turned to a nearby restaurant that specialises in South Indian cuisine. So along with poppadoms and such, I had Aadu Chukka which is a spicy lamb starter, accompanied by a little Kilangu Poriyal which is spiced potatoes; and then Chettinadu Kolli which is a chicken curry made with a large number of spices, along with pulao rice. It was all very nice and I now feel very full, though there's leftovers because I'm not that greedy

The usual wildlife stuff populated the TV schedule today, including Monkey Life and also the orangutan school

And later, i read more of H. G. Wells' short stories

Just for a change, I'm not going south to collect anything from my parents' house tomorrow.

              Goodnight all

Dream before waking was one of those where I'm lost, in this case it involved somewhere called Loxton which I'm surprised to find actually exists. Attainder also came in there somewhere. . I seemed to be driving some sort of car, but what sort is unknown & unknowable.

Grey, damp morning out after a bit of a rainy night, with drizzle or more expected through the day. Currently 8°C and staying that way. The barometers are also unswerving in their commitment to 984/992mB

To not-as-big Sainsbury's I did go, primarily to deliver a couple of bags of clothes that are surplus to requirements to the Oxfam clothes-and-stuff bank. But both bins were full to overflowing when I got there, so the clothes will have to stay in the boot for now. So I just popped in and got a couple of small bits I needed, and so home again

This did, however, make me realise how much of an irritation the ongoing problem with the car's slowly-deflating wheel was. I may well not have bothered if I'd had to spend a few minutes faffing around blowing up the tyre in the rain rather than just being able to hop in and go, as is usual with cars
