Frenzy of activity here this afternoon! The bed has been stripped and left to air (including a mattress flip), and the old bedding is in the wash. The brown and white loaves I bought have been thick-sliced with the slicing machine and room found for them in the freezer. And the dinner is in the oven. Oh, and some workComment

Tea has been chicken in red wine sauce with chips and peas, which was very nice
The car earlier was a Mazda RX-5 which we've seen before; they made it look ridiculous with vinyl and such, then sold it back to the bloke they'd bought it from, who probably stripped it all off again. SORN and no MOT since January 2015, so maybe he broke it
And some of the gold hunters ended their seasons on a high, some didn't, and some haven't finished yet
The bed has been remade while there was still time for it not to become an unduly burdensome choreComment

Tonight's first significant viewing was S1E3 of The Last of Us. I won't go into details for fear of spoilers, it still being a very new thing, but this episode was one of the most remarkable and impressive pieces of television I have ever seen. In the 1970s we had Play for Today to provide us with this kind of quality television, and it's good to see people bringing it back.
Next, tonight's major motion picture premiere: Working Girl (1988) which is one of those I've somehow never seen. In some ways typical of the romcoms of the late 1980s with the big hair and shoulder pads, but it's a pretty good one for all that
And lo! Lola Rennt (1998) (I insist on the German title, just as I insist on the German sound with English subtitles) is now in 4K on iTunes, and looks excellent - and is, of course, a truly excellent film anyway
Finally a couple more episode of The West Wing including one of those Thanksgiving ones, that being an American holiday where they have turkey and, it would appear, difficulty travelling if they work in what seems to be a rough approximation to the Civil Service
