    Amazon delivery received

I could see him parked over the road by the former Sainsbury's Local, so I started heading downstairs, when my phone went. It was an 020 number, but I missed it anyway being too slow getting my phone out as I was checking I had my keys before the door shut behind me, so I figured I'd look it up later. Then the Amazon guy told me he'd phoned me, and on further investigation it seems calls from their delivery app get routed as if from that number.

I'm not sure they publicise this anywhere, and my first thought was that it was probably a scam call; if it had been an unknown mobile number, then I would have assumed it was the delivery guy

Then all forums must be for saddos who can't go out and socialise with other people oddly because there is a pandemic....

Got the very-slowly-deflating rear tyre on the car pumped up, just in case I decide to go shopping later. Sainsbury's is usually pretty quiet on Friday evenings nowadays, so it might be a good time to go if the snow holds off

Ha! Checked the Sainsbury's website and, as usual, various slots had been released around 14:30. Got a zero-charge slot tomorrow night, 22:00-23:00

But as they tend to turn up early for those late slots, I might have to go to the Chinese earlier than usual to avoid the risk of missing them; or maybe go later, though IIRC takeaways aren't allowed to serve customers after 22:00, for reasons having to do with making the government look like it's doing something whilst achieving nothing at all in reality

I checked, and "-n" is indeed a suffix denoting one form of the definite article in Swedish (for certain nouns of the common gender, IIRC), the same as "-en" in Danish and Norwegian (which is also the Swedish form used for other common gender nouns). The Swedes seem to pronounce such words with a slight trace of the elided "e", if Google Translate's audio pronunciations are to be believed

Hassled Sainsbury's on Twitter about in-store bakery wholemeal bread not being available for home delivery when just about every other product from said bakery is; it's not exactly a niche item. As expected, got vague replies about stock situations changing rapidly, which is irrelevant as I have never seen the in-store bakery without wholemeal loaves at any time of day or night.

Anyway, I eventually got given a link to a form where you can supposedly ask the store to stock stuff, which is apparently the closest you can get to asking how they cocked-up their product list on the website, as I strongly suspect has happened. I don't suppose much will come of it, but you never know
