    Well that was pretty meh.

I seem to have lost what littlle cooking mojo I ever had.

    Entertainment:

"The ABC Murders" with that John Malkovich and some chap named Grint.

Amusing enough, turns out to be a 3 part BBC production.

The Oak Island nutjobs who, this week, are continuing with the excavation of "the sluice".

They're also doing the geo search with the explosive charges, all 18,000 of them.

One trusts that this will find sommat or all that explosive will have detonated in vain.

    Gary's detecting on lot 32.

And he finds an iron decking spike, possibly 1700s.

Next is a cribbing spike, somewhat bent.

    The sluice excavation is progressing.

Now there's some journo D'arcey o'Connor and his daughter.

Written lots of books about Oak Island.

Spanish galleons disappearing on the way back to Spain using the Gulf Stream.

Now Gary is off to see the blacksmith in New Ross.

They think they've found shaft 9.

    Gary's examining the spoil.

Nothing in the spoil but they've found wood a bit deeper.

Feck me they've dug a big hole.

    Plenty of wood.

These guys are nuts, they're down a hole, no shuttering, and a guy is using a jcb to dig more.

And they've found the tunnel, apparently they've found shaft nine, the tunnel links to the sluice.

After a mere 20,000 shots the geo survey is over, all bar the analysis.

Next week: surprise! they find More Wood.

A funny thing happened today... I was down in the chicken run, doing some winter preparations when I noticed a couple in the field behind our house. You see people in there sometimes, they’ve either got lost or are looking for blackthorn hedges. Given that I planted such a hedge a couple of years ago and it’s loaded with sloes, I didn’t think much of it. After they had spent a few minutes looking around, I shouted through the hedge, asking if they were OK.
They replied to say they had just picked up a brochure for a house and were taking a look at the area.
I invited them round, gave them a tour of the house and garden, and we’ll see where it goes from there.

Now watching more nutjobs on Blaze: "Ancient Aliens".

Feck me, these nutjobs are even nuttier than the Oak Island bunch who seem relatively sane in comparison. .

Autumnally chilly on the walk earlier, but at least it wasn't raining. Outside temp is about 8C
