Dull, wet, raining, overcast, windy. Bloody Alex (said in R4 accent as that's where I heard it first, before reading SE's post). Currently 12 degrees, forecast high of 14. Rain set for the rest of the day. Barometer has plummeted down to 985 mBar.
Woke up around 3.15 am and remained fidgety for a while. Put the radio on around 3.40am and listened to a bit of the BBC World Service. Heard the pips at 4am after which I finally got back to sleep.
Much coffee will be needed to get through this morning.
I love Midnight Diner! You are the only other person I know who watches it. The theme tune is beautiful, and I found myself self singing it on my French excursion at odd times.
Wet and windy out, glad we lit the Rayburn yesterday as it's toasty inside.
Last night The Wife (tm) and I watched episode 1 of "Life" on iPlayer. Looks like it's going to be a good series.
Followed that by watching "Papadopoulos & Sons", a film from a few years back (also on iPlayer), which was enjoyable, but light enough not to require too much concentration. The kind of thing you could watch late on a Thursday night before going to bed, and it would relax you.
Probably next week, as the forecast is for the temperature to remain much the same for a while. I may well have a beer/glass of wine (or more) over the weekend which would introduce an additional variable, so it can't be done straight away
