There's some kind of socialising going on somewhere on my street. Probably at the dodgy student accommodation place a couple of doors up.

Tea: bol with wholemeal spag, bit less spag this week which was a good idea & more pleasant than last week's effort
, the bol having sojourned in the freezer for an extra week to build up its chilliness to 11, stewed pears and custard (before the entire fridge is full of it), 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.
Entertainment: the remainder of the Aliens 2nd dvd features, inneresting enough.
Alien3, that relentlessly downbeat 3rd film, the director's cut was sufficiently different and half an hour longer that I thought I'd misremembered the original.
Watched the original with the commentary which wasn't all that inneresting, other than confirming my memories of the start & the finish. When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

The student house a few doors up from me was unusually quiet earlier. Maybe they've popped down to visit your lot?Originally posted by ladymuck View PostThere's some kind of socialising going on somewhere on my street. Probably at the dodgy student accommodation place a couple of doors up.
Tonight's free-with-Prime premiere was The Current War (2017), concerning the battle between Edison and Westinghouse for control of the USA's electricity supply. A bit like The Prestige without the conjurers. I enjoyed it, and happily commend it to you should you be interested in the subject matter
After that, I started to watch another film which is good, but I wasn't in the mood for it and after twenty minutes or so I decided to abandon it for now. Instead, I considered watching a film I knew I'd rewatched quite recently, but when I checked it was all the way back in February, and in this year's terms that's four or five years ago. And anyway, who cares? I can watch what I want when I want without inconveniencing anybody else. So I rewatched The Devil Wears Prada (2006), and enjoyed it as much as I always do; definitely one of my favourite films
And then the last two episodes of S2 of The Sopranos, The Knight in White Satin Armor (TV Episode 2000) and Funhouse (TV Episode 2000).
Goodnight all

Bonjour avec Dijon.
Greta about to start the final leg of Le Grand Depart back to Calais. Must ensure that the doors remain firmly locked. Don't want any Jonny-Forinners coming to Blighty, I mean just look at me...

And what a fine morning it is.
Currently 18 degrees, a slight breeze, not a cloud in the sky. Forecast high of 24 later. Barometer at 1017 mBar.
I'm sitting out on my little patio, having a coffee and listening to R4 while waiting for Ocado to turn up. The parentals are venturing up to town to bring me the last bits of tat that were in my Nan's garage. Will be meeting them at my storage place in Chelsea.
Eek The Archers! Turn that crap off! R6, quick!Comment
