Been a while since I've logged into a POP3 email account via telnet to debug a connection issue
Turns out it was Mac Mail that had somehow screwed up its connection settings in a way that couldn't be fixed via its UI, as I could log in just fine. Nuked the account in Mail and re-added it with the same connection info and now it works again
Not that it really matters, as it's for a domain I don't use and the only two emails in the inbox are a welcome message from the service provider, and one sent by myself from and to the same account to make sure it worked on my phone, both from March last year.Comment

If the host was Ionos/1&1, they were having connection issues earlier today
If it's an Outlook365 account, there are known issues on that too.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

Felt very tired yesterday
Anyway up and full of beans today even though it is now overcast.

Looks like her next door, being a nurse & all, has picked up CV19.
She's gone off for a test now just.
In other other news, the shirts are out of the TD and have been roughly ironed.
The cottons are still ongoing in the WM.
And the overwhelming greyness is blessing us with hints of drizzle.
Lunch: poached tomato and scrambled egg on Morrisons wholemeal sunflower and spelt toast (non crust), yellow corner yog, bramble jelly sandwich, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.
Yum.
I think I've well & truly passed peak General.
Specifically.Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 11 September 2020, 11:18.When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

It was definitely a problem on my end, as evidenced by the fact that telnetting in worked. It's been broken for several weeks, I just wasn't that bothered as I don't use it at all - it's a Gandi email address that comes free with having a domain registered with them.Originally posted by WTFH View PostIf the host was Ionos/1&1, they were having connection issues earlier today

Hope she's OK (and hasn't passed it on to you)
