    Back from the Chinese yet?
I was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. I am not an IPSE Member, since they have no longer have any relevance to me, as an IT Contractor. Read my lips...I recommend QDOS for ALL your Insurance requirements (Contact me for a referral code).

      Yep!

Walking up there I became concerned as the sign that projects from the wall wasn’t illuminated. I thought I might get there and find the door barred with only telephone/online orders allowed, or something pandemic-related like that. But it turned out they’d just forgotten to turn it on because they’d been so busy earlier in the evening

As well as the new owner, Janet, the previous owner, was there helping out (“I thought I’d be getting Friday and Saturday nights off now, but no such luck” or words to that effect) and we all had a jolly chat about the coronavirus and the apparent positive effects on the takeaway business of everybody being stuck at home and fed up of eating stockpiled pasta

And dinner was, as usual, very nice

Dinner was poussin again as we bought two the other day. More bacon enhanced veg and potato/celeriac mash.

The last bottle of red consumed.

We watched The Truth (2019) - IMDb as it was free courtesy of my Curzon membership.

Now HWMBO is shouting at MasterChef.

Feeling a bit sad as I've made the tough decision not to accompany HWMBO up to Scotlandshire when he returns home tomorrow.

We have no idea when we will see each other again as any future visits could potentially need a quarantine period.

On the box tonight, I started with a repeat of Annihilation (2018). Looking at my comments on my previous viewing, I’d say I enjoyed it more this time around, maybe because I wasn’t trying to work out what people had been whinging about when it came out. I reckon it’s worth watching, though maybe not if you’re in need of an adrenalin boost as it’s quite contemplative except for the brief moments when it’s quite savage. I think I’ll find some time to read the book too. All in all, I like it

And after that, a non-repeat (for me) with a kind of precursor of that Ocean film I rewatched last night: Out of Sight (1998), a heist/caper movie starring George Clooney, Jennifer Lopez, and Ving Rhames. I expect it was a fair bit cheaper to make than the $180 million or so they spent on Ocean’s 11, as it doesn’t bother with fancy casinos in Las Vegas, and I daresay the gritty Detroit boxing gym in one important scene came a lot cheaper than such places on the location fee. But it was smart, funny, well-plotted, and even had a romantic sub-plot thrown in for good measure. A lot better than I expected it to be, fun to watch, with good performances; recommended

It’s been very quiet out there tonight compared to a usual Saturday. Taxi drivers must be completely fecked by all the ongoing closures; I watched the road for a few minutes, and saw just one. It’s been like Boxing Day night out there, and this is one of the busiest roads in and out of the city

                  Goodnight all
