Just realised it's Pie Week and the week is nearly over!
Does anyone have any plans to celebrate this most venerable of foodstuffs? Is a pie really a pie if it doesn't have a bottom (answer: no it isn't)? What is the best pie filling? Hot water crust, short crust, flaky pastry top?
The Wife (tm) has just been to Waitrose for our weekend shop. They are sold out of toilet roll, but she did a bit of panic buying... We now have extra supplies of wine and tonic water.
And I remembered to stop off on the way back to retrieve the monthly prescriptions.
Quite nice to be able to stop the car without wondering whether the battery will have enough oomph to start it again
Meanwhile, mundane laundry is laundering
I never usually go out while the washing machine is on out of a vague fear that something will go wrong and it’ll flood the flat downstairs. But it was fine after all, as it always has been
One of the sidelights was bust apparently, so it failed on that, then they fixed it and it passed. As bulbs tend to go around a certain age, I should probably keep an eye on the others from now on as they’ll be likely to fail too
The bill says they replaced three bulbs, but there was only one mentioned on the MOT thing, so not sure what’s going on there
As the washing machine won’t be finished for another forty minutes or so, shopping will be delayed. Half four on a Friday means catching the Friday rush hour around the motorway junction, especially on the way back, so I think I’ll leave it until this evening.
