Odd day at Client Co. today after a good chunk of the IT workforce were told yesterday that they were being Tupeed over to TCS.

Not a lot of happy and/or motivated people around atm.

Ho Hum. Keep billing while I can.

Then I found out that ClientCo had realised it doesn't know what it wants so it's playing "not it". I have ranted elsewhere about that so will not sully this thread further.

Then I discovered that the data upload was missing two days of data.

It's now lunchtime and I am very despondent and have achieved very little. All billable though

Boulder inspection at Ye Newe Sloughe of Desponde done & dusted.

I have no fecking idea what the feck they are doing, looks like they're building a new wall for the dock. :confused.

It's a lovely day out there, had a reasonably ok cup of coffee with my friend, then off into Swansea to buy stuff.

9" of preloved dvds and a new pair of shoes from M&S, plus "The 2nd Sleep" by Robert Harris in hardback (£3 off in Waterstones).

Shades of "Pavanne", "A Canticle for Liebowitz" etc.

Plus a couple of spy paranoia hardbacks from Oxfam.

I should have taken a bagful down for donation but somehow I couldn't be arsed.

To be fair to client co. they treat their staff pretty well. TCS wont be maintaining the benefits packages any longer than they have to if they want to make any money on the deal.

Not privvy to the terms but I suspect a lot of people will move on before the time is up.

Better day today. I am getting on top of things. There is light at the end of this tunnel.

Knowing my luck it is probably a train.....

Luncheon was a fish finger sandwich from the canteen. It was nice enough.

Had to fix two more reports. These had been built on the assumption there wasn't life beyond 31 December 2019. Maybe they right...

Actually, it's more likely they were built as a short term stop-gap but everything temporary ends up permanent (another oddly prescient choice of words...)
