Lunch was greek selection platter and grapes.

Just as I returned to office security guard stopped me. Fire alarm in progress. Which ended 10 seconds later and I could get to the lifts before the others....

Ah, is that what they’re on about? I always assumed it had something to do with agriculture or gardening, like so many of these old saws about the weather

Well apparently May be out means when Hawthorn flowers(called May) are out. So you are probably right. Smart Alec!

With "May" being blossoms on the hawthorn bushes rather than the month, though, of course, prior to the change in the calendar in 1752, they'd have been one & the same.

I suppose global warming will alter that a bit too.

At least that's my theory, others exist on the interweb.

          They're all wrong of course.

Lunch was poached tomato (the last one in the fridge) and scrambled egg (the last but two in the other fridge) on Morrisons sunflower and pumpkin seed toast (crust) (fresh loaf).

All rounded off with a nice bramble jelly sarnie (pot now empty, bread from previous loaf) and 1.05 pints of good Glengettie tea.

          All very satisfying.

I'm thinking of going down the dump this afternoon to clear the decks a bit.

Ancient jeans washed in one WM, scarfe, gloves, and walking socks washed in the other WM.

Jeans now in the TD, the rest of it will go in when that's finished.

The sheer unadulterated excitement of my life knows few bounds, I can tell you.

Murphy's law states that the best way to get the right answer on the internet is not to ask a question; it's to post the wrong answer.

What was it like living through that?

                  Or you could ask nicely

Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer, but wish we didn't
Often free advice the the most expensive of all.
