i've just managed to overcome my intention tremor enough to fish the fecker out with superglue, saving totally dismantling a three tier circuit board to replace the jack socket <it's on the bottom tier>.

i'm feeling rather pleased with myself now.

I was basing it on the principal that 1/4" jacks are used in audio - particularly headphones and guitars.
and which bit did you miss, then?

and which part of 'stereo out' isn't a reference to audio?

You didn't specify stereo out in your original rant either, and that's a mono cable so it isn't going to give you stereo out!

the 'Right' stereo out, together with the 'Left' stereo/mono out, gives stereo out.
not been doing this stuff long, have you?

That weird lightheaded feeling from yesterday started up again this morning, then gradually started tending towards a headache too. So I took one of the antihistamines I bought just before the bad weather started the other month. Result: it's largely subsided. So, hay fever it would seem

Ah, do you mean the right channel of a stereo output?

Most of the input to our mixing desk is through XLR and the output is via Speakon. The stage monitors come out on 1/4" mono and the desk monitor is 1/4" stereo on the front.

Well there's a thing, a 4th season of "Veronica Mars".

                    Streamed.

On Hulu, whatever the feck that is.
