some idiot <me> tripped over the lead and the tip snapped off in the socket.Originally posted by DoctorStrangelove View PostDry.
LGS.
Sunless.

Very close.
22.8.
A buggered quarter inch jack.
Irritating.
I remember someone telling me about some of his leads being used to jump start a car.
It didn't end well.
i've just managed to overcome my intention tremor enough to fish the fecker out with superglue, saving totally dismantling a three tier circuit board to replace the jack socket <it's on the bottom tier>.
i'm feeling rather pleased with myself now.

Lesson: Don't use moulded 1/4", get ones you can take apart. Then all you need to do is replace if/when you break them.Originally posted by BR14 View Postsome idiot <me> tripped over the lead and the tip snapped off in the socket.

and how does that help when a tip's broken off in the jack socket?Originally posted by WTFH View PostLesson: Don't use moulded 1/4", get ones you can take apart. Then all you need to do is replace if/when you break them.
the broken jack wasn't my concern, it was the right stereo out from my eKit controller.Comment

Bacon bap (wholemeal) for lunch
Looks like we're in for an afternoon of showers rather than steady rain. Still, variety is the spice of life

You didn't specify that in the original rant.
I was basing it on the principal that 1/4" jacks are used in audio - particularly headphones and guitars.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment
