As long as you want to watch programmes in 5 minute chunks with a minute of intermission it's perfect.
Other than when it goes completely tits up and shows a screen half black (upper half) and half green (lower half).
Most entertaining.
I've reset it to factory and retuned it.
We shall see what transpires forthwith.
I tried to tune the satellite bit in & it crashed.
Now all that happens is the little red light comes on when you plug it in, then turning it on with the zapper changes the red light to white, followed by a pregnant pause after which the light goes red again and that's it.
Screwed with a capital F.
Off back to Lidl(tm) it goes.
Ho very hum.
To add to the joy the Sharp site refuses to acknowledge that serial number exists.
I am not impressed.Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 5 June 2019, 08:02.When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

A load of scans (OCRed) of Circuit Cellar magazine, which I assume arose when Byte stopped publishing the column, have just been added to the Archive: The Computer Magazine Archives : Free Texts : Free Download, Borrow and Streaming : Internet ArchiveComment

Last week I had work completed. Cost of £1100!
My mother just to feed us all sweets to shut us up at night while she went out. My elder siblings presumably were in the habit of teeth cleaning. I was not.
I am now at 2 root canals and 3 crowns.
All I want is for my teeth to outlive me.....Comment

I bought it on 05/05/2019.
It's back in the box with what laughably passes as the operator manual and all the rest of the gubbins, to be returned to Lidl this afternoon.
I must have watched at least half an hour of tv on it.
I spent more time scanning for channels than that.
So, just so someone else can find this:
SHARP LC-40FI2242KB47H: don't touch with a bargepole.
I'm getting a little Philips one next that's got double the warranty on it.When the fun stops, STOP.Comment
