It's a great film though. Not quite as great as the novel, but I suppose there are aspects of the novel that can't really be translated into film.
Goodnight all
Morning.
11.
Dry.
Sunny.
Warm.
Sky blue with Chem trails.
Watch the Skies.
Baglan just about visible.
Margam not.
Wednesday.
I think it is Wednesday but I'm getting a bit to be honest.
Another 15lbs of textbooks going to the Oxfam bookshop today.
If I've opened one twice in 45 years (Linear Circuits, Scott, £4 in 1972), or not at all (Mathematics for Engineers and Scientists (a programmed course FFS that ensures you can never find anything you're looking for in the damn thing)£3.25 in 1972), then it's time for them to go to A New Home or paper rec whichever is the more fitting.
There'll be more coming in tomorrow, the one about 8086 assembler programming is a particular classic. When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

Both have ratings >7.
Made in 1959 predicting a future 1964 that Very Nearly Happened.
First 45 mins is a bit sloooooow.
Come on, get on with it FFS.Originally posted by DoctorStrangelove View Post
On the Beach (TV Movie 2000) - IMDb
Got 30 mins in & decided I'd had enough for tonight.
Only another 2 hrs 50 mins to go.
The aspect ratio looked a bit odd at the start, as if it was 16:9 squashed to 4:3, but later on it looks ok at 4:3.
3 hours of very tall people might get a bit wearing and neither the tv nor the bluray player seems to be able to correct it, despite much pressing of buttons.
The Brian Brown takes the Fred Astaire part, with someone I've never heard of* doing the Gregory Peck thing.
Apparently the 1959 version upset Neville Shute so much it killed him.
Seems like another world back then.
*I've heard of him since as he was in NCIS & a shed load of other stuff. When the fun stops, STOP.Comment
