This evening's televisual epics began with "1945" on PBS, interrupted at 21:00 by the Oak Island nutjobs, who, this week, actually found some things: a gold plated button, a piece of metal with a square hole in it, a sail makers needle, some more ancient timber, and last, but not least, another, larger, chunk of metal.
Next week they find even more bits of metal.
The suspense* is killing me.

Tea tonight (or part two thereof, if the sandwich earlier was in fact tea) has been the rest of the scouse from the other night. Very nice it was, if you like scouseComment

Down with the youth with this evening's first film, or at least with those who were youth about thirty years ago, for it was Straight Outta Compton (2015). And it's very good indeed as far as I'm concerned, and well worth a watch
And to follow: The Fast and the Furious (2001). Absolute nonsense from start to finish, clearly aimed at an audience that thinks nicking a Ford Escort XR3i in Kirkby is the pinnacle of human achievement
Quite a bit of rap music in there too at the start, because those people like to identify with NWA, even though they get sunburnt from thirty minutes on the beach at Fleetwood
Anyway, we all know you're better off with a Ford Orion 1.6i Ghia: same car as the Escort XR3i, but with a boot so you can take stuff to the tip

Never done Compton (though it may exist in a pile somewhere), I get it confused with Collingwood.
Morning.
Dry.
Very grey.
Warmish. 16.7 in the living room, with 11.1 in the laundry room.
Dank.
Dreary.
Depressing.
Just fed the black cat who would be StrangeloveMog.

Well there we are.
Walk walked.
The charity emporia I missed out on Saturday visited.
4 dvds purchased.
One of which is Fast & Furious.
Two new hinges purchased from Wilkos.
Shed door taken off.
Door post reversed in one of my finest bodges, rather than cutting a new bit of wood.
Door screwed back together cunningly avoiding the rot.
Door post refitted & the old hinge used to fix the bottom in a reasonable position so the tin sheets don't bow the way they used to.
All that remains to do is to cut a triangular bit of wood so the door fits rather better than it does now.
Then it's a bit of potching about to fit a new window without locking the cat out of his/her/its box.
Endless fun. When the fun stops, STOP.Comment
