The new keyless locks use 13.56MHz to communicate with the keycard.
I'm sure the algorithm is complicated.
Could see stuff on a spectrum analyser when I operated said lock with said keycard.
In other news, the beeping of that fecking cherry picker thing is beginning to get very old indeed.
Bet you it isn't.
Good way to spot the esteemed customers who might be worth the effort will be looking for the ones who hack the lock in the first week. Especially if they have some toys to play with like a SA.
Edit : In fact a cursory google reveals any mobile phone with NFC built in can be exploited to read cards, hijack the ID number and play it back to a lock.
You can get NFC card reading devices that will work up to 20 feet from the card as well.
