Having forgotten some mains leads up in Ye Olde Slough of Despond, I'll have to walk up there again today.
Stone me it was a warm trip back.

      Sweat++ yet again.

Could you not have sent a "student" to collect them or have you broken them all?

          You must be joking.

Anyway it was quite a pleasant walk & would have been even more pleasant if I'd had the sense to take my jumper off before coming back down.

Just had a very toothsome young lady looking for a timetable for software engineering.

          Sadly I couldn't help.

And now there's a rather large blue cherry picker outside the window.

            I'm sure you could...

But I doubt it would be the answer she was looking for...

Anyway, about to partake in a "Your hardware is tulipe!" discussion with a manufacturer of big electric motors.

If there's one thing I love more than playing with oscilloscopes, it's using an oscilloscope to prove that someone is lying to me.

                Dunno.

Can't see wtf it is doing.

Some fresh new esteemed customers on some sort of treasure hunt just asked me if this is the electronics nerve centre.

                Aha!

The cherry picker man is filling holes with mastic.

The new keyless locks use 13.56MHz to communicate with the keycard.

I'm sure the algorithm is complicated.

Could see stuff on a spectrum analyser when I operated said lock with said keycard.

In other news, the beeping of that fecking cherry picker thing is beginning to get very old indeed.

                      Bet you it isn't.

Good way to spot the esteemed customers who might be worth the effort will be looking for the ones who hack the lock in the first week. Especially if they have some toys to play with like a SA.

Edit : In fact a cursory google reveals any mobile phone with NFC built in can be exploited to read cards, hijack the ID number and play it back to a lock.

You can get NFC card reading devices that will work up to 20 feet from the card as well.

Looks like you may be in for some fun and games
