This evening's entertainment was a rewatch of Eye in the Sky (2015), in which Helen Mirren leads a joint UK-USA-Kenya operation against Al-Shabaab terrorists, making extensive use of drones. It's very good; a tense military and political thriller, with a good depiction of the cowardice and buck-passing of politicians faced with the risk of bad publicity, as well as the excessively gung-ho attitude of the military.

And after that, another episode of the final season (or series) of The Americans.

    Goodnight all

      Morning all

Well, that was a bit exciting, wasn't it... we had rain earlier. A very light shower, but it was rain. CBS has returned now though.

I still haven't got further than the first 10 minutes of that.

And here we are following a mere 2 hours waiting for eye tea bods to get the interweb thing working again.

A lovely grey day with very little direct sunshine.

It's a rather pleasant 27.3 deg C in here at the moment.

It can stay like this for as long as it likes.

The esteemed customer from yesterday has returned.

        His "10 o'clock" is closer to 11.

          Morning denizens

Some extremely thin bits of high cloud here today, but it's still very bright and warm

In 2 stops of a Yodel driver's time, expect the heavens to open in the Surrey Hills, as he's carrying a new 3m parasol for our garden.

                  'Tis pissing with glorious rain.

                  And much much much cooler.

And I'm in the process of debugging this fecking software for the esteemed customer.

Helps (though not much) if the pic is actually programmed with owt rather than fecking blank.

And he's not an esteemed customer but some interloper or other.

Well that was a grade A waste of surfing time.

Can't even make the fecking thing toggle a port.

                  And it's only got one.

                  Ho hum.

Watching a junkie tramp changing his top on the traffic island where he is spending his afternoon begging. I think he might be concerned about the harmful effects of too many UV rays.

The middle of a traffic island seems to be a particularly poor choice of location to beg.
