Car insurance renewal email from Admiral turned up. As I have some free time, I had a dig around elsewhere, and was able to save a couple of hundred quid on the Orion with Sainbury's, and about forty quid on the Corolla with Tesco
Then I phoned Admiral to cancel the renewal. Thirty-three sodding minutes
They don't like it when they brightly announce some reduction they're able to make and you ask why that wasn't in the email they sent
He went completely silent for about ten seconds when I pointed out that Sainsbury's were giving me double Nectar points on all my shopping in return for insuring with them, and that was probably worth a hundred quid or so to me
Anyway, he managed to get it down to about five quid more than the total of the other two combined, which is still more. Game overComment

Surely Saga would offer suitably priced insurance for the discerning older gentleman?
Stone me, how much was the quote for the Orion then?
In an unexpected event, there's a couple of Esteemed Customers in the lab doing stuff for an assignment that's due in tomorrow.
Quite inhibited my Freecell it has.Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 22 May 2018, 13:27.When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

I thought of checking Saga, but the double Nectar points were too irresistibleComment

The AA wanted £340 for insuring the 1300cc Corolla before I decamped & went to Saga.

She's very reasonable, insurancewise.
The policy documents have to go through Google Translate though. When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

Not to be confused with sausage rolls, though that reminds me that I've got all the fixings for sausage rolls in the freezer. I shall make some soonComment
