BRB, just deleting St. Ives in Cambridgeshire from my weather app now I don't have to go there any more

I still have Klagenfurt (11c and rain) and Copenhagen (19c and clear) on mine. Given their locations those values seem a mite strange for this time of year.

The "gooseberries, as extracted this evening, turned out to be rather elderly & extremely frozen raspberries.

Which eventually cooked after much defrosting.

I made custard in an attempt to use some of the excess milk available since I stopped eating breakfast.

And, in other news, the furniture has been removed from the Strangelove parents' house at long last.

That reminds me, I've got some mixed berries in the freezer - blackcurrants, redcurrants, and raspberries as I recall. Must use them sometime.

Tonight's tea has been chicken (thighs, roasted with lashings of salt and pepper) and chips (homemade)

They're for a thing I learned bout from someone on Twitter: preheat the oven, then chuck the frozen berries in a dish. Take a chunk of chocolate chip cookie dough and break or cut it into little flat pieces, layering them haphazardly over the berries. Whack it in the oven for twenty minutes or so. Result: the frozen berries will have heated up and just started to break down, releasing their mingled juices, and the cookie dough will have just the right going-crisp-but-still-slightly-soft texture. Chuck a big dollop of ice cream on top. Sorted
