On the day that the Huygens probe detached from Cassini and landed on Titan, two of the scientists flew from the Huygens mission control in Darmstadt back to the UK, boarded a train, came to Leicester, and gave an account of the whole thing to those of us who attended the local Café Scientifique

So we were among the first in the world to see the raw data transmitted from Titan over a pint, the way science should be done

Ah, the feckwhits in charge a.k.a. TPTB, have now informed us of the intent to begin charging for parking as of October 1st.

That's gonna set the cat amongst the pigeons.

Sadly enough, I learned this morning that Colin the campus cat went missing 3 months ago & is presumably no more.

However, since he was last seen in the Chinese HOR, I have my suspicions of his fate.

I knew someone who had a dog that broke it's tail through over enthusiastic wagging. There are some posters in General I feel may suffer a similar fate

Vet has just phoned to say that they've spoken to Noel Fitzpatrick. If things don't improve over the weekend, that's where she's off to next.

The local vet has now said that there does seem to be an issue with her neck, which is then manifesting itself as a problem in her hips.
