I started watching 10 Cloverfield Lane but it turns out it's not very fast-paced, at least for the first half-hour, and I wanted something with a bit more pizzaz. So I saved that for a rainy day and turned instead to Oblivion, in which Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman do their usual job of saving the world, this time a future world ravaged by an alien force (also quite usual). I enjoyed it, and it had some excellent SFX, so it's OK by me
After that I decided to give that terrible rubbish The Mob Doctor another go. The second episode was very slightly toned down from the ridiculous pilot, but not to such an extent as to make it in any way believable, or really anything other than fatuous nonsense; so I'll need to save it for when I'm in the mood for such. I did notice this time that it's supposed to be based on a book which is allegedly based on fact, though the protagonist in said book doesn't appear to have been a blonde female doctor who wears ludicrous amounts of makeup and apparently has effortless mastery of every single specialisation to an extent that causes even elder surgical specialists to defer to her superior knowledge, despite her being about twenty-eight and therefore only just qualified in the first place
And to cleanse my mind of such nonsense I turned to Mad Men, which I've never seen before and had been saving up for when I had a solid chunk of time off; but that doesn't seem likely to happen very soon now. I thought it was excellent, and look forward to the remainder of the first season and the five (I think) after that

Monday.
All over again again.
And it's drizzling.
And it's hot.
And it's humid.
And I don't want to be here.
And the dear nephew seems to be irritating the dear nephew's wife beyond endurance, which may be a real Oh Dear(tm) if I'm not mistaken.
