6 months of design and development and I've just had a message to say we need to make a critical change to one of the bits which is working really well.
Why? Because the business forgot to mention it to one of the other guys on the team, and then the guy who discussed it with us 4 months ago gave us a completely different requirement. So, what should have been a week of easy testing has just turned into a big re-spec/re-write.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

Miss V's ear infection gone despite a whole night of wriggling.

Off to school today with matchsticks for Mrs V.

End Clienco's canteen is closed for festive lunches, forcing me to visit M&S instead. The place is filled with coffin dodgers clinging to their trolleys in bewilderment as hoards of suits dive around them grabbing sausage rolls and pre-packed sarnies. I anticipate this spectacle will feature on Planet Earth next week

Though maybe only smile if it's culturally appropriate - maybe the Japanese prefer very serious expressions under such circumstances

2 hours sleep last night, started work at 8am today, it's now 10.40pm and I'm about to shut down. Wish I was billing by the hour.

The hairdresser's over the road that closed when the hairdresser retired and turned into a car parts shop, which closed because it merged with a larger car parts shop up the road, so the place then turned into Booze City, and closed because a small convenience-store-cum-off-licence was never going to compete with Sainsbury's Local four doors away and a long-established East European convenience-store-cum-off-licence next door but one, has been changing yet again over the past week or two.

Now all is revealed: a picture-framer's.

At least it doesn't have any local competition, and the only other such places I'm aware of in the city have been in business for at least thirty years, so maybe this one stands a chance

Many years ago I was just starting a new project.
The new PM actually pulled me up for laughing about some disastrous thing a fellow team had done, something actually easily resolved, unbeknown to the PM.

I simply turned round to him and said, he should actually take note when I'm not lauging, in future, as that would indicate something really was seriously wrong

If you are really feeling that much pain, a substantial rate rise at renewal time usually is a healer.

Oddly there is a picture framers at the end of my road. I have never worked out how it makes any money. There is also a cobblers/key cutters on my road. Again I'm puzzled how it makes any money.

I guess these sort of shops are just fronts for money laundering.
