Doing Mrs Eek's cv for the train driving. You can tell she has never needed one before (always worked in the public sector wheee it's application forms).

I hope you have made it a permie CV not a contractor one - they need to know her hobbies.

My left ankle is throbbing from last night's exercise class. This night's hasn't made it worse or better.

          ZeitMissing. Shantytown empty. NoMoSho.
I was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. I am not an IPSE Member, since they have no longer have any relevance to me, as an IT Contractor. Read my lips...I recommend QDOS for ALL your Insurance requirements (Contact me for a referral code).

They are in there (she runs a Brownie Pack and has taken up running).

Has she run a race yet? Even a Park Run? If so you better put it in there.

I remember one of my train driver mates telling me that although they make a show of disdain for "railway enthusiasts", secretly they're all doing the job because they love trains

The academic year has started, bringing with it the usual Wednesday night influx of an orchestra (or something along those lines) that rehearses somewhere nearby then comes to the pub, complete with cellos, double basses, et al.

She has done park runs and the inaugural Durham 5k. Both are in there on her original version of the CV before I rewrote it...

She seems to have found a good template for most of the CV. The bit she had difficulty with was remembering things that she had done. I did x without outlining that x meant dealing with Councillors or calming distressed and irate members of the public. I think I've added enough in there.

The entertaining bit was trying to drop a hint that she was female without being obvious (as pointed out by HR at another rail company that is probably enough by itself to get her an interview). So the personal statement has as a young girl and the letter has a variation of that theme.
