No, it uses Mr. Faraday's new-fangled electrical induction

And very well it works too. It provided eminently satisfactory control over the cooking of my sausages, which I have just consumed accompanied by chips and beans

Pulled some of the garlic earlier - about a month early, but it was ready and tastes great (the first bulb you pull, the gardener eats the first clove raw - it is so sweet and tasty)
Back from this evening's gig, went down well, as did the beer they had provided for the band.
