Shopping done, and now I can put my feet up for a bit with a cup of freshly-ground-and-brewed coffee and a couple of soft white rolls with sausages

The Wife (tm) is going shopping shortly with her friend. That leave me to go for a nice big dog walk.
Not that my dog is big, but the walk will be.

Nice idea to try moderating like that.

I just posted in a serious thread in General - quite unlike me. I feel.... a little dirty.

                    Thanks.

I also tried to make a joke in another thread, but no one spotted it.

To Rugby - a place I've driven through once or twice, but never visited in the sense of stopping the car and getting out.

The bit I just visited consists entirely of a ring road and several retail parks

I was going to Maplin Electronics to get a wonderfully Heath Robinson device which was out of stock at their shop here. It's an electronic timer that slots over a normal light switch and uses a small electric motor to drive a wheel up and down over the switch, thus turning the light off and on

My all-electronic timer switch seems to have been sending a nasty spike down the line which caused the uplighter I had it connected to to burn out its bulbs (actually not bulbous - linear halogen things) at an alarming rate. Hopefully this more electromechanical approach to automated illumination control will save me a few bob
