Is it early ripening? As in all done by mid August?Originally posted by WTFH View Post4.5L of "Red Love Juice" cider decanted into bottles.
Half of the apples which went into it were from a variety called "Red Love", it's not a cider apple but is unique in that the flesh is bright red.
It's running at about 6.5%

Last year it was very early. Normally 2nd week in September but everything in our garden was about 3-4 weeks early.Originally posted by zeitghost View PostIs it early ripening? As in all done by mid August?…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

I noticed a nice mean role there yesterday... Wasn't sure you wanted to work that far awayOriginally posted by NickFitz View PostI had a chat on the phone with an agent I've worked with a number of times before about a gig he's just posted on JobServe, because the requirements were a bit unclear on an important point, and it turns out he's not completely sure either
Just whacked my CV over to him anyway. It's in Cambridge and I've got every gig he's ever put me forward for over there, so maybe the lucky streak will continue

I have an unidentified apple tree in the garden that bears shedloads of fruit, it gets edible by mid July and it's ripe and falling off by mid August.Originally posted by WTFH View PostLast year it was very early. The flesh is distinctly pink when ripe.Comment

I doubt it's red love - the variety was only introduced to the UK about 5 years ago. A guy in Switzerland has been cross-breeding for years to produce them.
You can ask the RHS, or ask the guys at Orchard Pig.
Is it a cooker or eater? Have you tried making cider from it?…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

I've worked in Cambridge a few times over the years - I usually stay at the Premier Inn up Huntingdon Road, towards Girton. Then it's a nice walk of about a mile to the Castle Inn for my dinner every eveningOriginally posted by eek View PostI noticed a nice mean role there yesterday... But 25 minutes ago it was snowing. 5 minutes ago there was thunder.
