What a co-incidence :spooky:Originally posted by NickFitz View PostI read about him just a few days ago when I found myself on List of entertainers who died during a performance

The guy apologised for boring us all with his story - I thought it was fascinating! The wiki tells a lot more - I'd assumed by "pretended to be Chinese" that it was some sort of un-PC (by today's standards) dress-up, but it does sound like he successfully passed himself off as Chinese. But his grandson really is the spit of the picture in that article (replace hat with cycling helmet).Comment

Further to the RT of September 1983, there's a programme called "The Great Egg Race" presented by Professor Heinz Wolf.

It apparently included a visit to a submarine.

We don't seem to get programmes like that any more.Comment

Last time all of them won something (cricket included) we finished up with an idiotic statue cluttering up the corner of Gallowtree Gate, so it's probably for the best if only one lot succeeds at a timeOriginally posted by covbob View PostThe other lot didn't, annoyingly close for them. Here's one that's presented by Hilary Henson, with Heinz Wolf as the "resident judge".

According to IMDB that's from 1980.

IMDB reckons it ran for 2 seasons, whereas I think it ran for at least 5.Last edited by zeitghost; 24 April 2016, 17:58.Comment

Oooh, interesting. There's a nearby puzzle geocache called 'The Great Egg Race' - I've not yet solved it...Originally posted by zeitghost View PostFurther to the RT of September 1983, there's a programme called "The Great Egg Race" presented by Professor Heinz Wolf.
