Then I realised I just have the battery facing away from me
It was connected to a charger that didn't sense battery voltage or anything else.
By the time I remembered, the battery was toast & the current limiting resistor in the charger was red hot.
The charger survived though.
It's over 50 years old & on its second set of rectifiers.
The first lot were copper oxide rectifiers.
I replaced them with silicon diodes & the efficiency improved so much that it now cooks batteries if you're not careful.Comment
