Went to see ZeitMater this afternoon.

She was very sleepy and not altogether there, so I only stayed about 15 mins.

Then I started stripping the paint off the door case around the front door.

It's angle grinder sanding time again.

Found some proper green leaded paint under the multiple layers of white.

And since it's Friday, it's fish.

      For sweet: prunes & custard.

Keeps the ZeitBowels nice & regular.

I haven't decided what, if anything, to have for dinner. As I've not long since had a sausage bap, I won't feel like a proper meal until it's too late to make one

As is traditional on a bank holiday DIY has been performed and power tools used.

Painted, and then fitted a steel door bar to, the side door of the garage after the break in a couple of weeks ago.. Got the door replaced on the insurance but beefing up the security as well.

Removed the old bathroom cabinet that had gone manky beyond recovery and fitted a new one purchased for that very purpose from the local DIY emporium.

Hung a couple of pictures in the spare bedroom that MrsB had been nagging about for weeks.

Knackered now. Sitting down with a G&T while dinner cooks.

Edit : Since it's being discussed above, dinner is a chorizo and bean stew.

We no longer have a local DIY emporium in Neath since B&Q closed.

They're complaining that their business has dropped 20%.

Well stop closing all the stores then, you dumbos.

It's fecking miles to go now that's shut, the nearest B&Q is next to the Swans Stadium, so heaven forfend you should need anything while those tossers are playing at home.

And Wickes is even further, nearly in Forestfach.

            Ho hum.

Our Homebase turned into a Next, and 'The Depot' turned into a Matalan. Have to go to Farnborough now for B&Q or Wickes. I think that is why we haven't bothered with DIY for a few years.

I went to M&S tonight. Had a confrontation with some barbed wire when out walking today, and jeans (and legs) came off worse. New jeans have been procured. Those full length mirrors in the changing rooms are cruelly unforgiving.

And here's me thinking B&Q is a nuisance to get to because it's a third of the way round the city. Spoiled rotten, it turns out
