A beautiful morning along the North Wales coast. Sunny and crisp.

Orange juice and tea down. Scrambled eggs and salmon ordered.

Heard last night that sister-in-law's elderly moggie got mauled by a dog. Nasty injuries including punctured liver. Vet advised euthanasia.

Dog is a rescue dog - never out without a muzzle, but had, on this occasion, 'escaped'. Owner is paying vet's bill (and is obv very distressed). Should dog be put down? I think sis-in-law is leaving that decision to the owner. Tough call.

Sorry but I think it should be put down. Suppose it is a child next time?

We have an elderly rescue cat. One eye. Continually savaged in the food bin. Always annoys the other cats.

Have had a google. Sounds like in law it's considered as natural behaviour. Most that is normally imposed is a control order. In this case, the dog owner is very distressed, so I imagine he'll take damned good care to ensure the dog can't get out again. The child thing was my thought, but it there doesn't seem to be a connection between attacking cats and attacking kids.
