Heard last night that sister-in-law's elderly moggie got mauled by a dog. Nasty injuries including punctured liver. Vet advised euthanasia.
Dog is a rescue dog - never out without a muzzle, but had, on this occasion, 'escaped'. Owner is paying vet's bill (and is obv very distressed). Should dog be put down? I think sis-in-law is leaving that decision to the owner. Tough call.Comment

We have an elderly rescue cat. One eye. Continually savaged in the food bin. Always annoys the other cats.Comment

Have had a google. Sounds like in law it's considered as natural behaviour. Most that is normally imposed is a control order. In this case, the dog owner is very distressed, so I imagine he'll take damned good care to ensure the dog can't get out again.
