Well there we are, tomorrow's lentil <pfffft!> soup is prepared and is simmering on the stove.

This evening's meal (since it's Tuesday & it's some sort of law) was a nice piece of halibut haddock, but insufficiently so as to require stoning of anyone for blasphemy.

I just had some of my mum's turkey soup

Only one bowl left, then that's it until next Christmas-New Year hiatus.

        Yum.

I'm pleased to say that I only had to endure 3 slices of turkey this year.

It really is a most uninteresting sort of meat.

I feel as if I've forgotten sommat from the lentil <pffffft> soup.

I remembered the lentils (this helps no end).

I remembered the onions, the swede, the parsnips, the salt, the teaspoon of marmite, a small potato just for luck, and several carrots for that special colour.

Plus I boiled up the assortment of dead animals' bones from the freezer to give it some body.

I suppose I'll remember sommat else, but I'm hanged if I can think what it might be.

Can't be pearl barley since that goes in the stew.

Very learned discussion about Rob Titchener on the PM programme.

Quite fascinated by the ads that FB is serving up.

It's currently obsessed with showing me pictures of ladies who are well blessed in the chest department, though it did start showing pics of a lady displaying her underwear for all to see.

I suspect that she wasn't too ladylike, all in all.

I think it's working from the DOB I gave it which is about 30 years younger than reality.

The farm from which we get the turkey apparently decided that, as a loyal customer, our family deserved a treat. So they sent a turkey that was nearly half as big again as ordered, at no extra charge

It barely fitted in either the fridge or the oven, but it was absolutely delicious compared to most turkeys I've had. Mind you, I mainly prefer the dark meat, as it has more flavour; but even the breast was really good.

But it's the soup my mum makes on Boxing Day that's the killer app

It has the correct DOB for me and I also seem to get those young ladies appearing with great frequency in FB ads, often wishing to emigrate from Russia and similar places for the sake of my company

The original or the Reeves and Mortimer remake, that was actually rather good?
