Finally got around to getting my development environment up and running on the iMac. All tests passed

Now I can actually get some work done with my £3000 computer, rather than just using it to transcode DVDs

*laughs, with hint of hysteria, at own naivety*

So, after much hassle, it seems like I really have it working now

I must say, it's a good job they introduced breaking changes to various recondite aspects of the Apache web server config files between versions 2.2 and 2.4. If they hadn't, I might not have wasted sodding ages dicking around trying to fix everything had the opportunity to learn so much. I'd probably just have wasted my time making progress with the project instead
