My virgin media 'enhancement' appears to have taken place and resulted in a new IP address as predicted by NF in these annals only last week. At least, I assume that's why the NAS isn't responding. Investigations shall commence this very evening.

Since I got my new IP address, Google Maps (in the browser) now starts out showing me a small wood to the north of Swansea, near a place called Felindre

I assume this IP address was previously associated with a customer over there, and Google's GeoIP database needs updating

Just checked, and the two dodgy transactions seem to have vanished without a trace

Oh FFS!

Parcel delivery status suddenly went to "Delivery attempted" at 10:49. I'm here! I was refreshing the page on my phone every minute, as it was due! I went downstairs and no card has been left!

Lying bastard couldn't be bothered getting out of his van in the rain, I reckon

Some of the delivery companies now take photos of your front door to prove they were there, or just update it to say "tried at brown front door, no reply." Which makes me laugh cause the nearest house to ours with a brown front door is about 300 metres away.


The photo ones can be good - I had left a note on the door saying just to leave the parcel on the doorstep, so they took a photo of my note sitting beside the parcel.

The only way to communicate with this lot seems to be Twitter. I @-ed them asking "WTF???" (I summarise) and they've just replied asking me to DM them the address, so now I'm waiting for a response to that.

We just had a delivery not turn up. Apparently a card was left (no it wasn't, and someone was home anyway), and the parcel was delivered to number 15 on our street. There is no number 15 on our street.

Amazon are arranging a replacement to be sent, so let's see which made-up house that gets delivered to.

I hesitate to put this in general, but here goes.

A couple near us are trying to raise £50,000 to pay for equipment needed to care for their 4 year old son at home. He has cerebral palsy, and the alternative is that he ends up in a care home away from his family. The things they need include a specialised bed, a hoist, special bath etc. They have a Just Giving page set up but are still a long way from their target.

Even if you can only spare a couple of quid it would all help.
