Fun fact: I have never used Java in a contract beyond knocking out the occasional throwaway utility program of maybe a hundred lines or so

Sounds much like my collection of Windoze(tm) programming books, Petzold et al, which take up a massive amount of space & possibly have never been opened, let alone read.

I've never made a ha'penny from programming Windoze(tm) in any form.

I have half a shedfull of electronics databooks out in the shed with the freezer that I put in plastic boxes to "keep them safe" should I ever, in fact, need to look sommat up.

In the 5 or 6 years they've been out there, the necessity has never arisen.

Come to think of it, I've only ever made £800 out of the £4k or so of pcb software that I bought in various fits of insanity over the years.

Late night last night, due to deciding to have a beer and watch a bit of televisual entertainment after dinner

Several bottles and several hours later, I had successfully undone all the good work achieved by several days of abstinence

Feeling a little fragile this morning
