I'm in danger of achieving what I set out to achieve quite soon. As this was basically a chunk of work that I made more complex than it needed to be, justifying it with reasons that are moderately specious, I'll end up with nothing to do for the rest of the afternoon

I just have to cut and paste some things from a spreadsheet into a system.

Then translate them into proper english and actually get the system to do things correctly....
