Since it chucked it down this morning I've decided that it would be foolish to mow the various lawns this weekend.

The washing machine has just stopped so I'd better peg the washing out & do some more digging up of weeds.

It's gonna kill me eventually, but hey! there you go.

Speaking of which, the garage owner who's done my MOTs for the last 40 odd years has popped his clogs at the young age of 72.

    He had MND, poor sod.

    Rest in Peace, Roy Lewis.

Mr ms has got a tickly throat. He's also pulled a rib, which makes coughing painful. This means he has been clearing his throat approximately every 15 seconds for the last three hours. I have plugged into "Parklife" to escape (which has the added advantage of drowning out the footie). If he keeps it up after bedtime, he may well find a pillow over his head...

Met a chap this afternoon who I was in skool with.

He's retired, having been a civil servant for 40 years.

            Ho hum.

              According to reports, yes.

Depends rather on the definition of "Ok" though.

Well yes. Not broken is probably as good as it gets.

                  Aye. It's a definite plus.

I'm tempted to turn the phone off.

Couple of good ISS flyovers at the pub tonight

According to my mate who knows such things, the first and highest one was at 72°, and it never gets higher than (IIRC) 79° here, so it was a particularly fine one

Also, blessings on the barman who came outside to watch it with us, and was initially under the impression it was coming in to land like a Space Shuttle

Sometimes, one needs reminding that most normal people really don't have a clue about any of this stuff, and it's our responsibility to help them understand it, because they love it when they do
