Possible, but I've had that bit apart twice and it seems OK. Also, the smoke came out of the other side, and it definitely smells like dust burning.

I'll see how it goes once I use it in anger

      WHS

The motor also has filters on the air inlet side. If these are blocked it would go all burny as well.

Don't spoil the ship for a ha'apeth of tar.
Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.

Yes, they're OK, though one of them was a bit clogged. I think it's just a result of it standing around not being used for nearly eleven years.

The AA quote was £392 for a 1997 vintage 1300 automatic toyota corolla.

          Totally ridiculous.

The thing hasn't done a 1000 miles since the last MOT.

I realised last year that I probably ought to insure mine for business as well as the usual stuff. Turned out it didn't cost any extra.

I also have them insured for 12,000 miles p/a, as that's about the mileage I do if I'm spending the week somewhere like Bristol for a chunk of the year.

But pretty soon they'll be asking over twice as much as insuring them was four years ago, which is just ridiculous.

We had two of the DC01's - great machines but heavy.

Both have been replaced with a single Dyson DC24 Ball All-Floor. Great little machine

Best gadget I ever got was a DC45, the small hand held one, perfect for a family with kids as lots of two-three minute clean ups on a room by room basis rather than a weekly "big vacuum"

That side seems OK, apart from being where the smoke came out

I think it's just dust burning off - there's been less of a smell each time I've run it.
