Gah! Just remembered I've got to do this screencast thing to the States this afternoon.
Just had a quick check of the stuff, and it turns out some DNS server on which we depend has mysteriously vanished off the grid - we can ping it, and other services are working, but DNS lookups are just ignored
If need be, I'll just special-case the relevant hostnames and return a fake DNS record from the script

That sounds almost intentional by the states based on your conversations on Friday...
