The writer Saki, real name Hector Hugh Munro, was killed by a sniper's bullet on the 13th of November 1916, his last words being "Put that bloody cigarette out!"

He was an old boy of my school: his name was familiar to me from seeing it on the wall of the Memorial Hall during Lower School assembly in my first two years there, long before I discovered his glorious stories. The "H. H." stood out, and surnames beginning with an "M" were near the centre of the wall, and thus just behind the Lower School Headmaster during the proceedings.

                So there you go

A quick image search provides the following: pending a better shot (pun intended; hopefully he'd appreciate it) it'll do. His name is in the second column on the right of the central inscription and school arms, next-to-last of the Ms:

One problem with getting my time exclusively from my Internet-connected digital devices is that I can't tell if it's half-past-one, or half-past-two and they've turned themselves back to half-past-one, meaning I don't know whether I still have an extra hour to waste
