I believe they cut that "n begat n+1" out of the Readers Digest Condensed Bible (which was actually a thing, published in the late 70s).

If Paul isn't the patron saint of the kind of really evil, slimy lawyers they have in American TV programmes, he ought to be

    Easier to read.

    More of a story.

Less of the blah son of blah son of blah style of things.
    Revelation is always good.

It's worth getting hold of the album 666 by Aphrodite's Child, which is a musical interpretation of it. Not so much prog rock as apocalyptic rock, including the not-yet-famous talents of Demis Roussos and Papathanassiou Vangelis. Awesome, mind-blowing stuff

I suppose one of those Pauline lawyers could drag a case out quite a bit with a debate about whether a tractor is equivalent to an ass in terms of Levitican prohibitions, given a case of literal autoeroticism

I wonder if there's a religion that prohibits the killing of fungi? Whenever I'm forced to kill a fly or other lowly lifeform, William Blake's line "Everything that lives is holy" runs through my mind

Luckily, that never happens when I'm eating pork chops or a nice steak

Morning all. Feels early but I know I won't sleep on the train.

I'm sure the copy of the Authorised Version belonging to ZP has funny spellings of names in it.

They seem much harder to say than they used to be.

Maybe I'm out of practise or getting old or sommat.

Oh, there's some good stuff in there.

                  Superheroes, villains, amazing magical powers.

I recommend a kids version though - much simpler language, and pictures too.

Try the one about the bloke whose long hair gives him super strength - his missus cons him into having a haircut. Then they poke his eyes out and imprison him, but his hair grows again, his super powers return and he pulls down the temple and they all die.

Yes. I'd bet it's particularly difficult to off a pig if you've raised it yourself.

It was bad enough putting poor old ZM down & I didn't intend to eat her.

ZeitGrandFather couldn't off the chicken for lunch.

                      ZeitGrandMother had no such problem.
