you missed what I did there. 0.5% is the annual rate of interest. As HMRC don't do compound interest it works out at roughly 0.37% if you pay immediately....

One of the 1 2 3 jobbies? Keep thinking about switching, but you need to credit 1K a month to get the rate. My typical month is under that, with a nice one off divvy at the beginning of the year.

Just checked - it's £500 per month - even I earn that much

Might switch - been with First Direct for years and am happy with them, but 3% is pretty reasonable compared to the paltry interest on my savings I get at the moment.

Santander have just reduced the interest on my ISA though.
