    Morning
Sunny and dry for a change.
Going to disinfect then replenish the bird feeders and water bottles, see if I can tempt some newcomers to the table
Will give job swerve a swerve till later

ZeitPater was up & out of bed & walking around the ward yesterday.

As verified with the staff, so not some delusion.

            Indeed.

And then the fun will really start.

As in, where the feck do we find care for the two of them?

Coz it would seem fairly obvious that they can't continue as they have in the past.

            Ho hum.

3 degrees celsius. Daimler OK at second attempt; engine a bit rough until warm, needs servicing. I think valves might need some very slight adjustment.
That was major on the XK, inverted bucket tappets with shims.

Dunno about the modern stuff which should have hydraulic lifters.

It's not a big job on the inline 6, which is one reason that the XJ6 is probably the best suited to everyday use. Very expensive job on the old V12 that can only really be done by specialist (read expensive) Jaguar chappies and has to be done regularly (once a year at least); dunno about the V8 but probably not simple either.
