Yesterday I had to finish at 14:35 to catch a train so I could go & speak with the registrar treating my dad.
14:25 some oik turns up demanding equipment for some tests he has to do that very afternoon.
I said I was leaving in 10 mins, so he'd have to come back on Monday.
This wasn't good enough, he needed the stuff now!
He had a presentation to give on Monday!
I explained the situation with the hospital visit & my father, but oik persisted in requesting kit for his demo of some fatuous piece of crap he'd designed to ignite those heating tablets the army are so fond of.
I said he couldn't have any kit, please leave, which he did after I'd lost what little remained of my cool.
It'll be interesting to see what transpires on Monday.
I shall use the "I can't perform a risk analysis in 10 minutes" 'elf & safetea excuse.
