Last year I produced a handout: "How to write software for your project".
It introduced the concept of writing a bit, testing it, making sure it works, then writing a bit more.
So, naturally enough, I've just been looking at some software that someone's written.
A shedload of it.
And, waddyaknow?
It doesn't work.
I'm not sure which bit of write, test, write some more, test, etc. wasn't clear.
And it doesn't help that it runs on a PIC with no real debug capability.Comment

Zeity, you should be teaching them how we do it in the real world, not this idealistic nonsenseOriginally posted by zeitghost View PostLast year I produced a handout: "How to write software for your project".

- Read the spec (but not too closely)
- Google for something someone else has already written that sort of does the job and copy it.
- Hack it to fit.
- Invoice.
