So, which are the good pubs in Cambridge - good for a real ale drinker who likes to sit in the corner reading a book, that is?

I was in a quiet little pub like that in Essex, and went to pick a book from a shelf near the fireplace, only to find that all three dozen or so books on the shelf were held in place by a thick wire threaded through a hole neatly drilled in the middle of each and screwed tightly into the bookcase at either end.

Unlike Cambridge, it seems that in Essex books are only for show
